Let’s get started

Sign up online below to take part in the NYGE Virtual Orchestra. Details of how to take part are detailed below the form. Once you have signed up you will receive an email with:

1.     your guitar part

2.     an audio file of your part

3.     a link to the instructional video with the full orchestra audio file

Recording set-up

You will need two devices.

• Device One (i.e. smartphone) to listen with headphones in to the audio file as you play along with it

• Device Two (i.e. smartphone/iPad/laptop/computer) to record your video and audio. If you have an external mic then please use it. If not, use your un-built mic.

Please set your device to record at 24 frames per second to help with editing.

iPhone or iPad
Go to Settings > Camera > Record Video > 4K at 24fps

Android smartphones / tablets
You may have to look in your camera settings for these devices or look up your device on google.

Recording your part

Choose a place to record your video with plenty of natural light and a neutral background. We only want one camera angle and need to see you playing clearly.

Wear something colourful in keeping with the colours of NYGE logo

Tune your guitar with a tuner set to 440hz

Don’t record with any effects (e.g reverb)

Wear your headphones and have the audio track downloaded to your smartphone

Submitting your recording

Once you are happy, send your recording via WeTransfer(Free) to:
